The Challenge
Rite-Way Roof Corp. has been managing commercial roof risk across Southern California since 1992 — protecting government buildings, hospitals, schools, and commercial properties across Los Angeles, Orange, Riverside, and San Bernardino counties. Their existing website ran on WordPress with the Blackoot Pro theme, a template-based design that looks and feels generic. The site suffered from heavy CSS and JavaScript bloat, with inline stylesheets and unused vendor code loading on every page. Navigation broke at smaller breakpoints, the mobile tagline layout collapsed, and there was no phone number or address immediately visible on the homepage — a critical oversight for a contractor that offers 24/7 emergency response. The calls-to-action were weak and buried, accessibility was poor with inadequate color contrast and missing alt text on carousel images, and the overall design did not communicate the level of trust and credibility that a performance-bonded, fully insured roofing contractor with 30+ years of experience deserves. For a company whose clients include Cal State University, Universal Studios, and multiple municipal agencies, the website was underselling their track record at every turn.
Our Solution
We rebuilt from scratch on Next.js with a dark, authoritative design system that matches the weight of Rite-Way's portfolio. The new site features a prominent phone number and Zoom scheduling in the header, dedicated service pages for commercial roofing, maintenance and repairs, and emergency response, and a project showcase highlighting institutional and government work. A marquee-style carousel displays their 14+ manufacturer certifications from GAF, Owens Corning, and others — establishing credibility immediately. The architecture is static-first: every page is pre-rendered at build time and served from a global CDN with structured JSON-LD schema data targeting commercial roofing search queries. The contact options are visible on every page, the calls-to-action are clear and accessible, and the entire site loads in a fraction of the time the WordPress original took. Semantic HTML, proper heading hierarchy, and ARIA labeling bring accessibility to modern standards.
Results
The new site launched at ritewayroofing.com with perfect Lighthouse scores across all four categories — Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO. The static architecture delivers sub-second load times compared to the WordPress original's bloated CSS and JavaScript payload. The redesigned homepage puts the phone number and emergency contact options front and center, the manufacturer certification carousel immediately establishes credibility with 14+ GAF and Owens Corning badges, and dedicated service pages for commercial roofing, maintenance, and emergency response give institutional clients the detail they need to make a decision. Rite-Way now has a web presence that matches the caliber of their 30-year portfolio and their institutional client list.
