The Challenge

Iron Ridge Builders had no website at all. They had operated for over 20 years on referrals and word-of-mouth, but as competitors launched modern sites and started appearing in local search results, Iron Ridge was losing bids to firms with half their experience. Their initial instinct was to build a WordPress site — a local agency quoted them $8,500 for a template-based WordPress build with WooCommerce (which they did not need), Yoast SEO, and a $300/year theme license. The proposed timeline was 8-12 weeks. They came to us after a referral from an existing client who told them their WordPress experience had been a nightmare of plugin updates, security patches, and a site that slowed down every time a new plugin was added. Iron Ridge needed a site that showcased their commercial, residential, and renovation work, communicated their safety record, and generated qualified leads — not a bloated CMS they would need to babysit.

Our Solution

We built a 9-page site on Next.js in under two weeks — less than half the timeline the WordPress agency quoted. The dark earth-tone design with amber accents reflects the rugged, professional identity of a construction company that has been building since 2003. The project showcase uses category-based filtering so visitors can view commercial, residential, or renovation work independently. The safety page prominently displays their 2.1 million safe work hours and certification badges. The contact form includes project type, budget range, and timeline fields that pre-qualify leads before they reach the team — eliminating tire-kickers and unqualified inquiries. Every page is statically generated, loads in under a second, and scores 100 across all four Google Lighthouse categories. There is no database to hack, no plugins to update, and no admin panel to maintain.

Results

The site launched scoring 100 across Performance, Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO — something the proposed WordPress build could never have achieved without extensive optimization work. Load times average 0.5 seconds across all 9 pages. In the first month, the site generated 23 qualified leads through the contact form — not just inquiries, but leads pre-qualified by budget range and project type. The bounce rate sits at 27%, well below the construction industry average of 55%. Three of those first-month leads converted to signed contracts worth a combined $1.2 million in project value. Iron Ridge's owner said the site paid for itself before the invoice was due. They are now the first result in local search for two of their three target service areas, outranking competitors who have had WordPress sites for years.
